For children and adolescents, we also use Family-Based Therapy (FBT) when appropriate. All therapists work from a Health at Every Size (HAES) perspective and are well-versed in intuitive eating. Some may also offer Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

What should I expect in my first therapy session?

At your first therapy session, often called a therapy intake appointment, the therapist will introduce themself to help get the conversation started. They'll share information with you, and they'll ask questions to get to know you better and understand how they can help support you. Therapy is a collaborative and supportive process, so you're encouraged to share what's on your mind, including questions or feelings that might come up for you. This information helps your therapist understand how they can provide the best support for you.
