My Approach
Each client will have an individualized experience in therapy based on their specific history, strengths, and challenges. I frequently draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy.
I also practice from a Health at Every Size (HAES) informed approach to treatment and believe that all eating disorder treatment should be HAES-aligned.
I find that I am able to build rapport with my clients and form meaningful connections, which allows them to trust me and follow me in guiding and empowering them through their recovery. I feel that the trusting relationship that I form with my clients is the backbone to any other treatment modalities I use. I am compassionate and nonjudgmental, while also being firm in helping clients to challenge their eating disorder and reach full recovery.
Eating disorders are often a symptom of a person being unable to cope with something else in their life. So, in my work with clients I address both the eating disorder thoughts & behaviors, as well as trauma, relationships, anxiety, depression, and other life stressors.
Being an eating disorder therapist is my passion. I am so grateful to be able to help people to find freedom from their eating disorders.
*I am taking on a limited number of new therapy clients. If spots are full, I am happy to refer you to another clinician or put you on a wait-list.
*In addition to therapy in Maryland (both in office and virtual), I am also able to provide therapy virtually in Virginia.

I have been lucky to previously work alongside Sari and see the way she works with clients. She is both kind and compassionate, while challenging her clients to push themselves and grow. Sari is warm and welcoming in session and allows clients to feel safe enough to do the hard work of pushing themselves towards their goals. Anyone seeking therapy would be lucky to work with Sari.
