What Sets Us Apart As Eating Disorder Therapists in Maryland
We are action oriented therapists. We love setting recovery goals, giving homework, and doing meal and snack exposures in session with clients when appropriate. We are not 'smile and nod' therapists. We have many years of experience specializing in helping clients with eating disorders to find food freedom, body acceptance and self-compassion.
Many of our therapists are also personally recovered from eating disorders or have supported a loved one in recovery.

What are the ages of the clients that you work with?
We see clients ages 12 and older for therapy services. Eating disorders do not discriminate and can impact people of all ages.
What kinds of eating disorders do you treat?

Generally, our therapists use a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). We use Family Based Therapy (FBT-informed) with children and teens, when appropriate to the client. Our therapists are all Health at Every Size (HAES) informed and are knowledgeable about intuitive eating. We have some therapists who also use Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR therapy).
What if I'm scared to recover?
We get it - recovery can be a scary process to start. We’ve also been there - most of our team has either personally recovered from an eating disorder or has helped a loved one through recovery. It is okay to be scared to recover and to also reach out for help. You don’t have to do this alone.
Am I “sick enough” to have an eating disorder?
If you are struggling with a preoccupation with food and weight, you are “sick enough” and you absolutely deserve to seek treatment and help.
