About Our Services
Therapy for Eating DisordersWe provide psychotherapy to teens and adults who are struggling with eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID, and OSFED.
We are the premier outpatient therapy center for the treatment of eating disorders in Montgomery County, Maryland. We also offer virtual eating disorder therapy in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Florida, and California. We use evidence-based treatment methods, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and modified FBT treatment. We also encourage self-compassion and model this for our clients. We pride ourselves on being action-oriented therapists, setting recovery goals, and doing exposures with clients, such as eating meals or snacks together. We will also talk about food, body image, and any underlying issues and emotions you're going through. We treat issues that often occur together, with therapy for eating disorders and trauma, and exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy for body image and OCD. We value collaboration with other local eating disorder treatment providers, including dietitians, psychiatrists, and physicians. We are thankful to have helped many people to recover from eating disorders and body hatred. |
Eating Disorder Recovery Coaching for Individuals and Parents WorldwideWe offer eating disorder recovery coaching to individuals worldwide, as a powerful added support to therapy during the treatment process.
Individual coaching can help you to take steps towards recovery and to manage day-to-day challenges that occur between therapy sessions. Coaching may also be appropriate as a stand-alone intervention for those struggling with sub-clinical body image issues, disordered eating, or who are further along in their recovery. We have coaches who can work with people all over the world via Zoom, which is an online video platform. Coaching involves a weekly video chat session, and it may include brief email support between sessions. Through coaching, we set recovery goals with clients, provide actionable tools and strategies and added support for recovery. Our parent coach helps parents of adolescents navigate issues that often arise while supporting a teen or young adult through the eating disorder recovery process. In addition to their professional experience, most of our coaches have personally recovered from their own eating disorders, which also drives their passion for helping others to find freedom. |
